Rough Dry Patch On Hand

rough dry patch on hand

Suffering from dull, tired and rough hands. Hands that are not properly cared for can become rough and unsightly. Let s find out how to get soft hands at home with.

  • Hi, i have a dry patch on the top of my lip. it started off about 2 months ago as a small discolored dot, then progressed into a darker patch bigger patch 1cm wide.
  • I have no idea what is going on with my face and I desperatly need help. For the past week there has been a patch of red, dry skin under my eye, on my upper cheek.

I have no idea what is going on with my face and I desperatly need help. For the past week there has been a patch of red, dry skin under my eye, on my upper cheek, and I have no clue what it is. At first I thought it was windburn, my husband drives his jeep with the top off so I began applying lotion all day and night. It burns and tingles a little whenever I apply it. The lotion isn t helping though. I am using a oil-free face lotion If this persists I will be going to the doctor next week to see what is wrong, but I was hoping someone here could offer some help beforehand. What is wrong with my face.. I have had acne in my past, as you can se with the pic, but it is has gotten a lot better over the years. I am not curently taking or using anything for my acne. I have naturally oily skin and I wash it every other day. I have changed my face wash six weeks ago from Noxema with tricolsan to St. Ives Olive cleanser. I will stop using the cleanser this week to see it it helps, but if it was just dry skin wouldn t it respond to the lotion. I am at a loss. Please help.

I have the same exact thing--it s a recurring dime sized spot below my lip on one side. I work in TV, and it is really hard to cover with makeup because it starts to flake, and sometimes when i remove the flakes it bleeds a bit, and is very sensitive. Im going to the derm on the 12th of sept earliest appt I could get, but would love to compare with you what YOUR doctor says as well.

Sounds good, we can compare and see what the doctors say about it. I m sorry you have it too, it is so freaking annoying. I hate it. I will call on Monday if the hurricane doesn t get too bad here and get an appointment if I still have it. I will update you as soon as I can.

Thanks, sorry you have it too. I spent some time online last night looking up whatever anyone had to say about it I m sure you ve done that too--it looks like a ton of people have the same thing --I put hydrocortizone creme on it last night, and it seems to be a little better this morning. Mine keeps coming and going tho, so I m never sure what affects it. I had little cracks on the corners of my mouth before this that did the same thing, and I started taking iron pills and using an anti-fungal on them--they finally went away   hopefully for good, but was wondering if they were at all related. Did you ever have the cracking mouth corners. That was also freaking annoying because it would start to heal and then crack when I ate and looked really gross too--it would flake too and hurt.

No, I haven t had any cracks in the corners of my mouth. Maybe I will try hydrocortizone creme. Does yours itch. Ever since I stopped using lotion it itches like crazy sometimes. Especially after a shower. I tried looking up this condition but couldn t find anything, what kind of results did you find about this.

This is eczema. No cure and no reasonable treatment. It will come and go, sometimes for long periods. It might spread to other area s like your eye lids.

Hydro Cortisone is one of the treatments. But long term use causes thinning of the skin. There seems to be an epidemic of this disease affecting adults. Because historically it primarily affected kids. They claim it affects 15 of Americans of which 2 are adults. They need to take a better look at that. If you look at this site and others. You will find hundreds of people, every week, complaining about the same thing. The number one complaint to Dermatologists is eczema. If they came up with a reasonable treatment, or better yet a cure it would cut billions out of there profits.

Yeah I thought it might be eczema but I wasn t sure. Darnit. I guess I will get some hydrocortisone cream and try it for a few days. If it doesn t get better I will go see the doctor. Thanks willy851.

Mine suddenly went away--so weird. It didn t get better and better and then disappear, it was just all of a sudden GONE. Hard to believe as it was scaly, the texture of the skin was weird, kind of stiff, and then suddenly normal. I still have my derm appt--I think I ll go and ask him about it in case it comes back. How s yours.

Well after I had tried vasleline on it after bathing and after a week it hadn t really improved much, so I decided to stop using it and only wash my face with cool water and made sure I didn t get it wet in the shower. I like warm showers So two days on and it is still scaly but the redness has almost completely gone away. I hope it gets better. I am glad yours went away. When you get back from the derm please tell me what he said about it.

go to the doctor it could be squamous cell carcinomo, that is the way it starts out.  i have it.  it is skin cancer.  no cream will help.  it can be taken care of.

Well, kind of luckily, before my appt I  woke up with THREE new spots, and the one on my face started getting worse again--so I went to derm, who looked at it and diagnosed eczema immediately, which I pretty much expected. He said that it is related to asthma which has largely gone away for me, but I had severe asthma as an infant and child until I had my son, and that people with asthma typically suffer from skin disorders, and it gets worse as we age. Great. The good news is that he prescribed two meds for me, one for body Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment--0.1 and one for face Desonide Cream--0.05. OH wait--the desonide may be for the splits on the edges of my mouth-- a yeast infection -I ve got to check--anyway, My spots are almost gone, and I ve been using the meds for only two days. Definitely much faster acting than the hydrocortizone, which did seem to help, anyway. I would say it was worth it to go to the doc and get these. I feel like I have some kind of defense for when it comes back. I m hoping it just goes away, because otherwise I m suspicious it s some kind of food allergy. I m vegan, so I don t have a lot to cut out to do an elimination diet, but just because it s such a pain, I m avoiding it unless the eczema returns, but I m very suspicious about a wheat allergy. So I guess I ll look into that if it keeps recurring. Hope yours is better.

Okay, I checked and I was right, the Desonide is a corticosteroid used for the eczema. It is working, whatever it is.

Thanks for the update. I might have to end up going to the derm, arg. I really didn t want to. Anyway, my spot is no longer red, but the skin is dry and really wrinkly if that makes any sense is that what yours looks like after the treatment or is the texture back to normal again.

I know exactly what you mean about the wrinkly thing. And yes, mine has gone completely away to before-spot-normal-skin. One on my arm is in the wrinkly stage right now too :

Well that settles it, I guess I have eczema as well. Darnit. Thank you for being so incredibly helpful. I wouldn t have known what it was if it wasn t for all of your help.

No problem--you too. Mine are almost gone, definitely glad I went and got the meds. Best of skin luck.

I have been reading all comments I also have the same dry patch on the chin I have had it for a month, I woke up one morning and it was there. I have try cortaid and black current pills for excema,my doesn t hurt or itch ii is just ugly to go to the dr. seems like a good idea should I tell them to give me something with desonicle in it.

heyy idk if you still go on this, but ugh I so know what you two are talking about. Im out of patience and will go to the doc soon. but I have red dry looking spots right underneath my eyes and a little to the side of my right eye, and also spots like not even half and inch from the corners of my mouth and righ underneath my chin. at times they are extremely itchy and others they seem finemy eye lids were somewhat peeling a bit also, but im only 20 and it seems like my eyes are becoming really wrinkly already from this. ive had this condition on my face for about 2 years. i mean it comes and go, I try to buy organic make up, no eye shadow since i think it kinda causes it to appear more.  but ive trie hydrocortosone spell. cream, and all other kinds but nothing seems to gelp these spots to go away, just time. I have them for about a month and then they disapper and then reappear a like a couple months later.. its annoying :

i need some advicemy skin looks so horrid right now and im so upset about it. i have had acne in the past but for the past few years i have had flawless skin. a few months ago i started breaking out horribly and this sent me over the edge. it makes me so depressed and stressed. it seems to have only gotten worse and it has made my anxiety through the roof. i cant sleep at night and i have severe anxiety attacks. a few weeks ago i noticed my skin was pink in some areas and started to peel. since then it has just been a viscious cycle of peeling, pink red skin, then it gets dry and heals and then flakes off again. just a few days ago i started getting little rough patches that are so ugly and pink. and on top of this i am breaking out. i honestly dont know whats worse cause at least i can cover zits with makeupi cannot even cover this. did i mention its extremely painful. it doesn t itch though it feels like its burning. my family says that it is all in my head and i do it to myself but i don t know how that could be. Help.

I have been suffering from red inflammation just around the side of my mouth. Firtly I applied Hyrdocortisone cream BP1 which did seem to take the redness away but left a white patch in the area. It is just a white patch and not itching.  Then suddenly one day I noticed that both side of my nose, the area between my cheek and nose it was inflammed and red. The skin was also very tender. Dr prescribed my an antifungal cream which didnt help. I tried using the anti-fungal cream along with the hydrocrotisone cream which cured the area around my face, Only the white patch around my mouth is still there and doesnt seem to go. I am too worried about putting make up just in case it comes back again.

Also, I have started using E45 face wash and cream which seemed to work wonder for me.

i used and exfoliant on my face and later on my face was broke out and had blisters on it. Now im dealing with red patches of dry skin on cheeks, chin. tried triple antibotic antibiotic and avenno lotions and nothing is helping it go away thanks for some more advice

For about a year i have had a red spot on my eyelid. Now it has gotten worse and there is a red spot underneath my eye. It sometimes itches and sometimes it gets really hot and starts to burn. It has gotten better and than peels but than goes right back to being really bad and it looks disgusting. It is incredibly annoying. It also gets all wrinkly. What should I do

for a year now i get red patches on my cheeks and im wondering if thats ezema.

I have a red dry patch underneath the corner of my mouth, which apparentely some other people have too. A few months ago the same thing was happening in the corners of my mouth and that was because of an iron deficiency. I m wondering if this new patch could be because of a lack of iron too. How do you guys cover it up because it s embarassing and when I put on makeup it flakes and it s still red. Or if anyone has a cure that d be even better. Please help.

I have a red, extremely dry, flaky, stiff spot right below the middle of my lower lip. It is about dime sized and it gets flaky everytime I talk or eat or smile or any kind of mouth movement.  It also oozes a clear, thick, sticky liquid sometimes. Please help.

I have a dry, red, flaky, stiff, dize sized patch/spot right below the middle part of my lower lip.  It flakes up with every mouth movement.  It also oozes a clear, sticky liquid sometimes. Please help.

Hi, I have had the same problem, tried all the expensive lotions and creams and nothing helped. I looked up home remedies and decided that I would try anything that didn t cost me anymore money. Vitamins one zinc, one flaxseed oil, one B complex, one C. There were others, but these were the only ones I had at home. I take these four vitamins everyday and have been problem free for about 4 months. It only took about 2 days to start seeing results and I had normal skin within a week. Warning you must take these everyday, if you miss just  a couple of days, the patchy skin will return with a vengeance, trust me, I know. Good luck.

Oh my gosh. I have the same stupid problem. its round, red, and sometimes it has flakes. Its also dime sized exept for its actually a raised flat surface. Its so annoying. If i but lotion on like every hour its not as red or flakey flaky whatever. But its a big problem in high school. I have had it for 6 months, my mom made me an appointment but as you know its hard to get an appointment. So i have a few more months to go :

I had the same thing. Woke up this morning and had a small red splotch on my face a little smaller than a dime. Almost looks like I scratched myself,  it is not raised or scaly. I had this last spring/summer so I wonder if it is allergy related. When it was not red it was a light brown almost like an age spot and i did not notice it at all over the cold winter time. It does not itch.

I woke up yesterday morning, like many of you have reported to have similar results, not knowing what was wrong with my mouth. I was dead tired the night before as I fell asleep early that night on my stomach, and woke up during the night feeling my mouth was bothering me, and had the sense that I had been drooling. LOL Wiping my face in the night.

I thought maybe it was dryness provoked by my own saliva, as I remember when I used to suck my thumb as a child, I had a spot like that under my lower lip on my chin.

But reading this, I see mentions to allergies and I also think it may have to do with allergies too. I had just suffered from a stuffed up nose the day before and my allergies have been bugging me for some weeks.

My current self treatment for yesterday and today have been a petroleum like ointment twice yesterday, and last night I applied antibiotic ointment as well as this morning before I put on some makeup to cover it.

If dry skin was a provoker, than drinking more water will always help too, hopefully, as well as taking my allergy pills.

I have one of these red flaky spots on the corner of my lip and it has been there for about a month now. I also have a similar thing going on at the edge of my nostril.

I have just been leaving it alone, sending it love and hoping it will go away. My mom says I should eat more fruit. Anywhoo. I am glad to hear other people have a similar problem. That sounds mean but its just comforting to see i am not the only person in the world with this issue.

THANK THA LAWD ITS NOT HERPES, EH.

Tomarrow I am going to get vitamin spills. Wish me luck. I will pray for you all tonight.

May your skin problems dissipate.

OMG I am so relieved I have found people who have the same thing as me Mine first appeared in January and we couldnt get an appointment at the dermatologist coz theyre all so busy.It was first a coin sized thing right below my nostril that was red and very sensitive, it would then kind of get white wrinkly flakes, burn and itch like crazy, I cant put makeup on or any cream or it gets worse. I just hoped it would leave and I started putting on Mylocort which made it much worse and kind of puff up, it was embarrassing to leave the house coz it looked so bad and ppl at school started asking what the hell it was..being a 16 yrs old with this is NOT easyeventually I just went to a normal doctor who said it was eczema and prescribed anti fungal creme..which made it 10 times WORSE then a few months later after doing nothing it miraculously went away. Since then its come and gone in the same place but no its back and worse than ever. It now goes all around my nose and extends onto my cheeks-so ugly.. I used to have such great skin and I m really depressed The earliest appointment I can get with a dermo is September. Its so nice to know that others out there have experienced the same as me not that I want anyone else to get it but just to know I m not the only one... Does anyone have any new remedies or cures coz I m so depressed about it and look so bad that I don t want to go out in public.. HELP ME PLEASE.

I have also had red patches on both sides of my chin that have been there for over a year. its always the worst after i shave. The dermatologist gave me desonide cream that works to make it go away..it dries out and then flakes off..but it usually takes 2 days or more for it to go away. he said to use it as treatment and not preventative. I think ill start taking vitamins.. hope that helps.

OM Gosh..  I seem to have the exact same symptoms. I have a small dime/nickel sized reddish, dry, irritated spot on the right side of my cheek btw my mouth and my nose. It s recurring. It ll go away then return, it seems like, every month or so. It starts out a dry reddish patch then gets flaky/scaly when I mess with it it s irritated burns a bit. I also had the cracking problem in the corners of my mouth which I ve never had an issue with before and found to be very aggravating uncomfortable. I treated the cracks with Neosporin they seemed to get better over a few weeks but only after they healed some recracked a few times. Ugh. Now the small dry patch on my cheek is back. It doesn t itch, if anything, it s irritated burns a little also because I pick the dry skin remove so it isn t as noticeable. Any ideas.. I have had the small red patch of dry skin come go for several months now. At first I thought it was becuase I switched birth control pills it was caused by my hormones adjusting to the new pills however it hasn t corrected itself. I should be well adjusted to the new birth control pills since they were changed in January. I do have a history of iron deficiency and wonder if it s all maybe caused by a mineral /or vitamin deficiency in my body. What did you do has the symptoms completely disappeared..

Anyone with any input, please respond.

To everyone: I had the same thing. And I know what it is. You are allergy to a particular food. IN my personal experience, it was a bean allergy. No joke. Typically a pinto bean one. TAKE BEANS OUT OF YOUR DIET.

Try it for 3 weeks. The rash will never come backuntil you eat them again, that is. It is the immune system reaction to a protein in the beans. It is odd, but a lot more people have it than you think. Take care. Mine has gone away completely and forever since I took those yummy beans out of my diet.

I ll tell you my story. On my left cheek is a small red patch that is flaky all the time about the size of a pea. I KNOW where this started. A few years ago I had a pretty bad black head in that area and preceded to remove it with my fingers, catching some of the skin with it and it has never been back to normal. I ve been told drink water.. blah blah blah, but it s not going away, and NO makeup will cover it. Sometimes it shrinks, but that s about it. I ve tried lotion, creams.. Nothing helps, so I ve given up and we don t have a dermatologist in the area I live in so, I will be suffering.

I have red blotchy area around my mouth, its goes all flaky and did go away for a short period of time. It makes me very self concious and depressed, I just want it to go away. I have been to the doctor about it twice now and both times have had different creams for it, the hydrocrotise cream helped a little bit but then I got another one and its all just come back again. Any ideas on what I should do.

I ve had the same problem around my eyes - red, irritated, flaky, generally unpleasant spots. It comes and goes, but tends to stick around in the winter. I HAVE had success in applying both an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin and hydrocortisone cream to the affected areas every night and leaving it until the morning. If I go one night without it, the irritation starts to come back. The one issue with this is that I ve read that hydrocortisone cream can lead to thinning of the skin, but nothing else I have tried has had any noticeable effect.

Recently, a couple of similar dry spots have appeared on my chin. I haven t tried the ointment/cream combo on them yet, but I m hoping it clears it up for me.

I hope there is someone who can give a defined answer onhere cas I am a single mother and I can t afford the dermatologist since they don t take my insurance. I woke up to a flakey spot under my eye on the right side. I have very nice skin and I ve been very blessed to not have a lot of pimples.I would take a piece of tape and gently place it over the flakey patch to remove the flakes. I know so bad for the skin I know its not impetigo. I eventually decided to use Aquaphor. I tried neosporin, eucerin, I have never used anything.   other than a gentle cleanser. The aquaphor did heal it, but now I noticed it has reappeared as small raised red bumps that itch a bit under my eyes. my left eye eventually got a small bit as well When I had it before it was red and swollen as well as sore. It actually got so bad it ripped and bled.I put the aquaphor on 2x a day. It gets all over everything and its annoying. I drink plenty of water and take a decent amount of vitamins. More than the average person. What s strange is that my mom has had the same thing happening to her lately, as well.We do live together, but we re a very clean family. Its not impetigo, or dirty face, over washing, a to strong facial cleanser, an infection or just dry skin.it has to be something like an allergy or disease. I know of 2 trees im allergic to, but I get runny eyes and nose from that not scales and bumps. I ve seen exczema eczema and this doesn t seem like it. I did use a gentle Play facial wipe for makeup removal, but it has never bothered me in the past. Could it be an autoimmune disease. Isn t there one with a face rash. I do have thyroid disease, IBS, Fibromyalgia, and a hiatal hernia.I just hate the idea of losing my face when im not married and trying to date. Im 31 and would like to treat this and not use anything harsh lime steroids. Any ideas, suggestions, pictures or links deeply appreciated. Hopefully we can end this thread and find out the few answers that this could be.Its all over the internet, but seems to have no good answer. Hope you are all fairing well with this.Especially the women who started this. Thank you

If you have redness with blisters that ooze you definitely have eczema, but if it never gets a blister and just flakes it is more likely psoriasis then eczema. either way if it last more then a few days GO SEE A DOCTOR, over the counter medications/creams are sold to rip you off, they DO NOT WORK

I just got back from the dermatologist.  I also woke up one day with a red patch under my eye.  It looked like I had a black eye.   At first it looked like there was a whitehead pimple there, but that went away. I tried peroxide which did dry it out and I thought it looked better. Then I put Neosporin on and it looked less dry and flakey.   The dermatologist didn t make a diagnosis. I have a prescription cortisone cream to use for 3 weeks, then I have to go back.  Also, my eyeglasses cover it so it doesn t look so bad.  But I also wonder if the glasses exacerbate it.   Well, I have to wait 3 weeks then we ll see.   I have had basal cell carcinoma in the past and I so didn t want it to be that.   Hopefully it will go away.

Ok im 14 and i have the same thing but its on my forehead, scalp, and small areas on my elbow and belly. I went to my doc and she told me it is sceriases sorry dont no how to spell it and it can be caused by stress. Thats the only thing that she said it was caused by, so if you got the patches right around a time of great stress then that could be the cause of it. My uncle is 40 and he has it but alot worse then i do, i do know this thought, the sun can help it alot almost to the point of it disappearing. I am also using this cream called Hydrocortisone, it is a sterido cream though so i can only use it for a week then go a week with out it. It  was perscribed to me though so there must be some type of over-the-counter cream thats excatly like it but no quiet the same. If you do get the same thing be careful not to overdose because the cream can actually change the pigmantation of your skin. AKA the color. Doctors dont know how to prevent it but i am going to see a dermatalagist about it. Thanks for reading .

I had this problem only once and it was horrible. It lasted months and on top of it I had coldsores 8-10 times a year for like two years, and those last like a month so it was a sad couple of years. I tried everything suggested online for both problems, and I think it just depends on the individual. I would suggest putting Burt s Bees Resq ointment on it instead of neosporin. It took it away in days and worked for the coldsores too. I took fish oil pills and l-lysine at the same time but I think it was the ointment. It was the only thing I could use that wouldn t irritate it. I would have to apply it a lot tho and if its applied thick enough to last an hour it would show a greenish film it s a green ointment. Psoriasis is an untreatable condition that comes and goes, and may stay dormant for years. It has to do with the immune system and the right diet can help; also exercise and the l-lysine or other vitamins. Candida is a form of yeast bacteria that can affect the skin esp in overweight people, diabetic people, or pregnant women. It can be confused with eczema because it causes the spots with itching the worst around the edges and slight peeling. Antifungal cream and a corticosteroid prescribed by your doctor any doctor - not just derm will take care of this. But the only way I really see this happening on the cheek is if it occured in or near the nose or mouth and then spread, but it technically can occur anywhere. I would not disregard these other possibilities but I do think its eczema. It is unkown what causes this but it s linked to genetics of course and allergies are possible related in that what your allergic to could be aggrevating it. I would think about what you eat, what you use to wash, make up lotion and what s in the air. You can get the medicines mentioned above from your doctor, but unfortunately for adults its a reoccuring nightmare. It can be controlled once it s dormant by mosturizing, frequently, reducing stress in your life which is really easy to do when you feel ashamed to leave the house, but like most things we don t like, I ve learned it s easiest to embrace the problem before trying to fix it. try yoga, or just make me time. And of course avoid anything irritating such as allergens, harsh soaps or detergents, and scratchy materials. I hope the best to all of you, I almost feel guilty I only had this problem once, but dang I had a coldsore or coldsore scar on my face for like two years.

I believe what most of you all have is a fungal rash; not eczema. If it is a definitive round, scaly, red/white, itchy patch it is most likely a fungal rash. I am a medical student currently on my dermatology rotation. I have seen many patients come in with these symptoms. I know many people are not able to afford to go to a dermatologist, so I will try to give the best advice and information I possibly can. The best at-home treatment I can recommend is butenafine hydrochloride 1 cream. Butenafine hydrochloride is an antifungal agent. You can buy it at most grocery stores/Walmart/Walgreens/CVS in the form of Lotrimin Ultra. Be sure to purchase Lotrimin Ultra and not another Lotrimin product that may also contain a different form of hydrochloride terbinafine or clotrimazole. As butenafine hydrochloride will work faster and more effectively. Apply 1-2 times daily. Symptoms should subside within 2-3 days. Always wash with skin-sensitive face wash and dry before applying. Another step to add that could make this treatment more effective is washing affected areas with selenium sulfide. Selenium sulfide will help relieve the itching and flaking. Selenium sulfide lotion may be difficult to find at grocery stores, but it is also found in dandruff shampoo such as Selson Blue. Be sure to wash your face with selenium sulfide only once a day and wash it off your face thoroughly each time. Washing more than once a day can cause your skin to dry and lead to further irritation. If your skin is very sensitive and gets irritated after washing, then apply light skin-sensitive moisturizer to your face. Try not to touch affected areas with fingers and never scratch affected areas. Also, remember to always change bath and facial towels often, use clean razors, sleep on clean bedding, keep your face clean and dry, and always apply SPF 30 lotion before going outside during the day. If dry and flaky patches reappear, apply the butenafine hydrochloride as soon as possible. This will lessen the time of subsidence 1-2 days.

Apply Butenafine Hydrochloride 1 cream Lotrimin Ultra 7-12 1-2 times daily.

Wash face with Selenium Sulfide Selsun Blue 7 only once a day.

Apply light skin-sensitive moisturizer to sensitive skin.

Change bath and facial towels often.

Apply SPF 30 lotion before going outside during the day.

Just an extra word of caution:

The advice and tips above are just for some people with the stated symptoms to try. The best thing to always do is see your dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment. I m just trying to help some with a temporary low-risk treatment. If symptoms worsen then see a dermatologist, please.

Here I agree with willy851. Of course this is eczema. Sorry to say that no cure and no reasonable treatment is there for this. But the good thing in it is that it will be vanished by itself. As it s one of the properties of eczema that it comes and goes, some times it retains for long period. I will suggest not to experiment with any ointment or skin care product without any doctor s prescription.

Hi. Can you tell me what happened when you went to the doctor.. I have the EXACT same thing under my eye. Please let me know. thank you.. :

I ve been struggling with this exact problem since April. I went to the derm and he prescribed hydrocortisone valerate and diagnosed it as excema. Stress definitely made it worse and the cream helped calm it, but when i stopped using it it immediately came back. My facialist said she has seen this pop up for so many, especially women, aroudn the same exact time of year. After trying everything, I started treating it as an environmental fungus, as someone here suggested. I have been taking homeopathic pills from AZO Yeast twice a day and applying diluted safe for face tea tree oil anti-fungal agent topically to the areas at night. I have only been doing this for two days and my skin is pretty much completely clear knock on wood. I ve never written on these forums before, but know how frustrating this is. Give this a shot. Eat well, get sleep, try to stop stressing and try this. Hope it helps you too.

I too have had the same issue with reoccurring angry red lesions that turn scaly, particularly on my cheek and either side of my nose.

After loads and loads of research I figured out that is was probably Seborrheic Dermatitis - I suggest that you use Google Images to take a look at others affected.

The most effective treatment that I have discovered is to use simple Head Shoulders as a facial cleanser.

Google will provide you with all the details of the condition - but very basically it s the same fundamental cause of dandruff. Over production of yeast in the skin which aggravates the skin and causes the inflammation. H S will take care of the yeast and in a matter of days it should be gone. Use H S ongoing and it should prevent any repeat occurrences.

Again, it s only my experience from hours and hours or research I just hope it helps you.

totally know what everyone is going threw. I m still not sure what mine can be cause mines is not like a small patch, mine goes from the top of my nose it comes down around the sides of my nose and continues the whole way to my chin. but mine is very red very tender and not pleasing to look at just like all of u. I did how ever go to the doctor and he said it could be auto-immune deficiency. does anyone s get like this, and if so what would you recommend.. i m so depressed over this cause its so hard to get out in the public world looking like this.

The red dry flakey patches on chin, eyelids, nose, forehead is what i would like to adress.

I have been batteling with this for a year and it goes away and comes back. I have decided to go to a natural healer she has informed me that it is not egzma or adult craddle cap or fungle skin condition-------its what we eat and our age. She has advised that i detox my body and take pills for cleansing large intestine. Also she advised that i make sure the cells in my body are getting enough oxygen. this is my third day and it got really bad but not i am seeing results.

It sounds similar to what I have but only thing is my covers a large area of my face and neck. It s not bumps; just large patch like areas extending all the way down side and lower part of my face and smaller patches on my neck larger than quater size. It does come and go; and I ve tried antifungul cream prescribed both over the counter and prescribed cortizone creams and still visible. Makes it difficult to go on a job interview. I have neck facial hair indvidual strands but to many : that I remove every other month atleast but with this issue have been hesitant to do so. As some of the red touches those areas.

I have had psoriasis or eczema on my arms  as a child-teenager and after sugery few years ago, I had a bad case of eczema, with extreme flaking. over the counter worked well for that. I currently am unemployed and insurance is still being processed; therefore, difficult to make and appointment even if with my regular Dr she lll tell me to just wait it out try this or that for this long then come back if persists. The problem with seeing  dermatologist without insurance is I don t know if they will allow that without out a co pay I don t have. But I m running out of options. Some times a wake up and it s barely even red other times it s not red but peeling.

ive had the same problem red patch on my cheek below my eye and gets flaky. The best thing to do is put peroxide on it every night before bed and it will go away in the morning.

My face burns and the affected areas look really rough. I thought it was just dried skin due this season. I had it last winter well just redness so this must be it and it will go away soon I thought. It is even worse this year. Similar to most people on here, it started flaking over the summer right above my upper lip about the size of a quarter. Now I have red patches on my eyelids, forehead, cheeks and it runs down the jawline to the side of my chin. I get chills whenever I look at my face. The skin tone is not even, it is rough and bumpy. Do you think it is due to makeup.

So i have been living on taco bell.i wonder if it is the burritos.

well i fell out of bed and on a carpet and now i got two red spots one is going away fast but the other one is just getting worse i think its irritated or a rash

I have the same problem - dime sized, red, flaky spot on my chin, and it burned when I tried using lotion on it. My doctor prescribe Hydrocortizone, but it does not seem to be working for me, and in addition, it seems to be spreading to other areas of my face. : I have to call my doctor again so he can refer me to a dermatologist. I have had bouts of eczema in my life, usually when the weather starts to get cold, but never on my face; can t go on job interview with this..

I am going thru this for the first time, red under the eyes goes away for a day then comes back and I HATE it. I don t even want to go out in public and feel like under my eyes are getting super wrinkly. My son has Desonide ointment perscribed for his eczema so I am going to try that for a few days and see if it helps any. I am just glad there are others out there who understands this craziness.. It .

Thank god I found this post and to actually know I m not the alone with this

I have it quite bad it started at the beginning of the year when I was going through a bit of a stressfull time and my eyelids started getting REALLY dry and wake up with just complete dry flakey skin on the eyelids. I always had a very small dry patch on my right cheek which has never worried me.

nothing seemed to work and and stung like hell everything I tried to put cream on it untill I came across a chinese ointment that seem make it less dry and flakey so I kept that up

over the next few months stress rose more and more and then one day I was out shopping I went into the public loos caught sight of myself in the mirror and it looked like half my face had been burt. If you can imagine Phantom of the opera mask, top half of running across the nose down all the across and down the right cheek was bright red and puffy.

went straight to the closest pharmacist and they put it down to stress and got me to try these herbal stuff to clam me down it didnt help I wen tot docs and she said most likely linked to stress and will go once my stressful period goes well  that was over six months ago well since then it had calmed down but come and go dependant on how stressful my life is due to travelling/work/college/exams

it has never completely gone I have gone back to Docs but they cant seem to tell me what it is nor have they presscribed me anything that has actually worked I am now waiting formy deratologist appointment to come later this month and hopefully they can pin point whatever this is and give me something to get rid of it Thank god I m not overly bothered what ppl think but it s still not nice to have to look in the moirror and seeing 75 of the face like this it s only ever itch if I let if go dry but this has meant me having to put vit e cream on it like every hour to keep it moisturized

If they cant sort this out I will have to get a phantom of the opera mask for my face as it s has been nibbling away at my self confidence and it has now made a noticable dent in it not good fingers crossed

If you have very bad dry skin at the corners of your mouth there is a possibility that this could be Angular Chelitis. It s symptoms are breakage at the corners of the mouth, and dryness around the mouth. It is an iron defficiency and I suggest researching more about this. I hope that I helped at least someone on here.

Yeah i have this too, and yet im only 13. It is a small bright red patch beneath my eye, and i do suffer from eczema on my hands. Will it go away.

Felt compelled to add my comments.  About a month ago I started experiencing the same thing.  Red, dry, rather itchy and irritating patches on eyelids and underneath eye.  First went to med. clinic and they said it was an eye infection, although I doubted this, I took oral antibiotics for 10 days and antibiotic eye drops to no avail - still had rash.  Went to the optomotrist who said I had an allergy and prescribed steroid eye drops.  They kind of helped temporarily, but the rash returned.  The only new face cream I was using was 200 Creme de La Mer, which I prompty returned to Holt Renfrew, thinking perhaps I had a reaction to it although I have used it in the past.   After searching online, I figured, that I must have some form of eczema, although I have not suffered from eczema in the past, nor do I generally have allergies.  Perhaps the dry winter air also played a part.  I purchased emu oil creme from the health food store and this did alleviate the itchiness and dryness somewhat - but I finally figured out what was causing it.  STRESS.  Lately I have been awake at night deliberating over an important decision I need to make which has to do with my career and my finances.  I have been worried about this for some months.  When under stress, the immune system is definitely compromised.  The good cells start attacking normal cells thinking they are bad cells, blah, blah, blah and the skin can definitely be affected.  I finally made my decision and something clicked in my brain.  My eyes cleared up almost immediately.  For all those sufferers out there - take a look at what is going on in your life.  If something is wrong, try to deal with it and solve it, and many ailments and health issues will clear up as a result.  The mind is a strange and wonderful thing.

I m sorry but I have to agree with David on this one and I will be picking up these products tomorrow..  It is DEFINATELY NOT Eczema..  I have exact same symptoms as most, except its nicklel size i ve had it for about 6 months now but finally went to the hospital last week and was referred to a dermetologist, I can t get in until Feb 2nd but he did say it was NOT eczema or Rosacia. I just hope its not cancer, I love the sun.  But I have 5 kids that kinda need me. I m hoping to get to the end of this thread and get some answers Good Luck All.  :

If it is a fungus and you put an oil or cream vaseline product on it you will spread it even more.

I saw a great Derm Dr once and she said to moisturize in addition to meds.

On Ebay I found NoMiss liquid antifungal. I bought that and soome neutrogina facial moisturizer and used the NoMiss then covered it with the neutrogina.

This has been the only thing that helps. The NoMiss-antfungal for hands and feet burns some, but it is an eyedropper clear liquid- it dries really fast. and the moisturizer makes it feel better and keeps me from drying out.

Derm student Nguyen post is right, but avoid antifungals that are petrolium based. NoMiss is not.

I saw a lotion Antifungal as well.

If you do not follow the rules for cream antifungals they can spread it instead of cure it.

Also if you can track down an An antifungal shampoo - do not overuse - it will dry you out and make it worse.

use an antifungal liquid - watch out for vaseline based products

wash your sheets daily until AFTER IT IS GONE

wash your glasses alot more than daily

wash your hands after application

cracking sides of your mouth is yeast/fungal - dont share your cup

I had this going for almost a year, many useless derm visits later, I am doing this myself. An it is clearing faster.

Mine started like that to,the corner s of my mouth would crack and hurt like hell,I would put campo phenic if thats the correct spelling, then that stopped and now I have these little spot s that burn and dry up,whats up with that.did you find any solution as of yet.

About 4 weeks ago I woke up to very dry skin on my eyelids and the corner of my right eye.  The skin became scaly and I definitely looked like I aged 30 years.  I tried to exfoliate it and it seemed to spread, so I started to put a topical cream on it called FML.

I went to my dermatologist after 2 weeks of it not going away and he said that it is likely that I am allergic to something and that I probably have CONTACT DERMATITIS.  I then remembered that I get a nasty allergic reaction if I touch the peel of a mango - major rash anywhere the mango peel touches on my skin.

I stopped using all eye makeup and began to use a pure cleanser on my face, Dr. Bronner s Tea Tree Soap, which hasn t caused a reaction yet.

I scheduled a PATCH TEST this week to determine the root of the allergy.  When the test is done I will get a list of products I can/cannot use.  I am just over 24 hours into the test and I am already starting to itch like crazy and parts of my face are itching even though the test is on my back. I suspect this means that I have found the root of this problem, which I think will probably be my mascara and a face wash I used to wash off eye makeup.

I have suffered from burning, red skin patches the size of a 5 cent coin on and off throughout my adult life. It was quite severe when I was attending University and then suddenly one day my skin was perfect again. It has been fine for the past five years until this week. I have tonsillitis and am quite run down. The doctor put me on penicillan and now my skin is beginning to break out in the burning, dry, red patches. I was wondering if it might be the penicillan causing the flare up or is it just that I m run down.

Being run down can make crazy things happen to our bodies. In fact it s the worst thing for our health. Remember your body is fighting off infection EVERY day not just the times that it s run down, so bad things can and will happen when you get run down. The key is to realize when your run down and over worked and take extra special precautions for yourself.

I m of the mindset that anti biotics are really never the answer. What I have found to help the most with any sort of infection that is plagueing the sinus/throat/lung area is: boil some water in a kettle/pot on the stove, drop 5-7 drops each of cinnamon leaf cinnamomum verum, clove Syzygium aromaticum and thyme Thymus vulgaris essential oils into a different bowl I use a glass mixing bowl. Then pour some boiling water into the bowl w/the oils already in it. Use a towel to direct the steam and treat yourself to a antibacterial spa for your sinuses/throat/lungs.

Thyme essential oil is one of the most powerful antibiotics out there, with no ill side effects to boot. How great is that. The steam will bring it into the nessecary cavities. Breath this in at least 10 times, and try for 3 times a day, but if you can only do 2 it s still okay, results are immediate. Cinnamon is also an analgesic, antibacterial, anticlotting, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Clove is as well an analgesic, antiaging, antibacterial, anticlotting, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and of course it numbs stuff up.

God is great. Everything that the human needs for recovery is growing right here on this earth.

As for the eczema I m Sure there are natural ways to help with it, but sometimes the natural ways take longer and I don t have a natural answer for that. So for the red spots I d recommend a prescription 0.1 Tricloson cream and you can even dilute it with a quality face cream or lotion and it should still work just as well. To avoid the bad stuff in face creams and other stuff you put on your body because anything you put on your body will eventually go straight into your blood stream check out   and type your face lotion into the search bar.

I ve tried all sorts of other things before coming to this conclusion with the oils. Eat well, sleep lots too and remember to take your probiotics.:

Hope you feel better very soon.

p.s. something to think about: The medical community can t make any money off of something that simply grows up from the ground. There is no patent to be had.

p.p.s. my mother in law came to stay with us for 5 days I found this recipe the day she came and had tried it in the morning. I had the Worst sinus infection I d Ever had and was totally drained of energy because of it. She came with some sinus issues too. However as a retired medical nurse and possibly, because of bulheadedness she wouldn t even give it a try. In 5 days I was pretty much completely healed. She still sounded the same when she left, runny nose- some coughing. It s crazy to me.

I will now use this method Anytime I m feeling Anything out of the ordinary; considering most everything bad that gets into our bodies comes in through the nose/mouth area. Tiny bit of a sore throat coming on and that s always how it starts for me and bingo clears it right up. Good Luck.

Hey y all. So I have been reading through you four year old cements. I m a celiac. I haven t ate any type of gluten in two years. I used to get this stupid patch under my right eye and top of my nose.   About a month agO I was feeling like endulging and went out and got my self some corn cereal.  Within days this showed up for the first time I. Years.  It s been on my face for a while now. It s lovely to look at. The kinda think that make waking up so rewarding. Any way if your wondering about what might cause it. Corn gluten isn t the best thing for you apparently or so I ve been told. Later sk8ter.

I have been using a triple antibiotic ointment for a number ofd ays and it has really made a difference. I would just carry the tube with me and put it on when I thought about it and always after eating or wiping my mouth. Be sure to wash your hands well before applying it - you don t want to add additional germs to the already sore and compromised area. I quit using it for a while and unfortunately The dry spot has started to come back again. So I will just continue to use it until it stays away for good. One website suggested using and antibiotic cream or ointment for 6-8 weeks.   Good luck - i would definitely get to a derm dr if this doesn t help 0 might be something more serious.

I have the same problems; I started with dry, flaky, red patches either side of my eyes, then under my eye, then onto my cheeks. I had itching when I put E45 on. Hydrocortisone helped but could carry on using it as it does thin the skin. I ve tried everything from antibiotic cream to E45. I m 35 years old never had this before, no asthma or allergies. I presume its psoriasis which you can get on the face in shiney, red dry flaky patches.

I m not saying that it is but do some research on lupus.  One of the symptoms is a butterfly rash on the face.  I also have red, dry, flaking parts of my face which feel irritated and sometimes itchy.  I have no access to a dermatologist so I ve been trying to do research myself.  Someone thought it might be eczema, another one psoriasis but reading the post about seborrheic dermatitis seems to relate to my condition since I tend to have really bad dandruff in the winter months.  In recent years I ve also had small red dry patches on other parts of my body, but only in the winter.  The doctor I went to diagnosed it as a fungal infection but now I don t think that is it.  I am going to use Head Shoulders shampoo every day and also ingest 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed and 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil to see if it helps.  Another suggestion was to use Oil of Oregano topically on the red dry patches.

I have been dealing with this kind of skin issue for years and I have finally gotten to the the bottom of it..I am 55, been working in the fitness world for 30 years as a Personal Trainer and as a result of that profession I do a lot of research for myself, family and clients. It has taken me many years to figure out some of this stuff but the bottom line is that I am now working with doctors that are involved with Integrative medicine. These doctors are helping me figure out the right protocol for my specific issues. which has everything to do with past antibiotic use, poor food choices from years ago, heavy metal toxicity, and a few other lifestyle choices that weren t so great In other words you basically have to turn into a detective and sort your way through. Sooooo, my suggestion is to find a good Integrative doctor in your area and get started that way. One last thing, a complete blood and urine test to find out what your insides are is a good thing. And remember, our bodies were designed to function perfectly if we treat them right

Hey, I just turned, fifteen; but I also have those red spots. There by my mouth, it stings when i put any facial products, and they dont seem to work. I was my face with warm water and facail clensear 2x a day and after i put on a light oil free mosterizer. I ve had this patch for about 2-3 weeks, and it irratates me. Expecicially sence im in highschool it , because you can t put makeup on it cause it looks worse. I scrub it with a scrubier thing to get the flakes off but they always come back. Ive got them before but they usually go away, but this one isnt going away So please tell me someting that will help the red patch:/

Oh gosh I m so glad to see so many individuals with the same issue. I have a small little patch right under my bottom lip, and luckily, it happens to be only in that particular area. I do happen to be a beauty guru, so maybe all of the ridiculously priced lotions and products I happen to use all over my body have prevented this. I don t know, I don t have a PHD in anything lol, but the point is, I ve been constantly worried about this because I happened to be sexually active a couple weeks before. Trust me, I looked into HIV symptoms the day I realized it was there, and I just had that gut feeling of you know, these don t happen to quite be correct. But again, the patch under my lip is a little raised, reddish white/scaly/crusty when un-stretched and itches burns for literally two seconds when picked with. My little brother did happen to have quite the case of eczema when he was younger, so it s probably just a small issue that s family related. Hope it goes away soon.

same thing here but right in the middle of my forehead, what a nightmare, i look like someone has been continuously poking me in the forehead, my doctor was useless and fobbed me off with, oh its a bit of dermititis, i also have flaky skin all over my head, and another coin sized patch on the back of my head, im going to insist on a referal to a dermatologist as i cant go on like this, its been there for a couple of months, the flaky itchy skin on my head has been going on for over two years, ive had to start shaving all my hair off to lessen the irritation on my scalp but its still red and flaky :

I have the perfect stuff to reduce the appearance of eczema/rosacea.  It is botanically based products. PURE SAFE BENEFICIAL.   If you want to know more information please reply to this post.      I will educate you on products and foods that will help you with this problem.   I can sale the products and If, however, within 45 days of purchase, you are not completely satisfied with any product, you may return the unused portion for a full refund of the price paid or replacement product.

my neck for a month was red and itchy, flaky  and looked patchy and kinda thick, then i noticed another spot on the side of my chin.  I tried antibiotic creme, hydrochotozone.  Only bandaid solutions - drove my crazy.  then I had to visit Mexico for business went to  a pharmacy at the Airport and the creme was about 20.00 but the Doctor told me i had a case of Dermatitis and that the creme he gave me called Elomet/Mometasone would clear that.  I was so desperate i got the tube and within 20 minutes it was practically GONE on my neck and face.  You use very sparingly and only once  a day he said.  thank goodness for social medicine in Mexico as i have no health insurance.  I ALSO had a very painful cycst on my inner thigh that would hurt when i walked.  I did not know it it was an ingrown hair or boil but was very painful. . I even  put this creme on that issue and within 3 days it was GONE.  I hope this helped.  I am so glad that these recurring problems i have i now have a medicine on hand to help rid of these problems AND he said that for very bad insect bites to use this creme.  this creme is fantastic.

i have a big red patch of dry skin on my right cheek: i cant go  out and wont go out until it is away. its been here for about 2-3 days now and ive been looking up stuff to get it away.. i also have blackheads and spots on my forehead: i look up what can i do to get them away i tried stuff like pputting face over hot bowl of stuff and stuff school summer ends in like 4 weeks i really need these spots/blackheads and that rash away for starting school again. plz helppp

i have the same thing as a lot of you guys. red patches started showing up, under my eyes, eyelids and around my mouth. it then turned into this flaky dry mess and made my skin really wrinkly and old looking even though im only 16. my skin patches hurt like crazy. i will purt on lotions or whatever and my skin will soak it right up but it stings like hell and doesnt help. gonna go to the dermatologist next week and see whats going on. please help if you have any suggestions.

Hi, I am wondering if perhaps your burning painful rash may be shingles.   Have you had the chickenpox at any time during your life.   Shingles is the commonly known name used to describe the skin lesions that can appear on any part of the body, including the face, when the same virus that causes chickenpox becomes reactivated.

You can only suffer from chickenpox once during your lifetime.  Afterwards, the chickenpox virus remains dormant sleeping in the spinal cord, and sometimes reappears in a slightly different looking rash form, as shingles.

Some people have experienced shingles in the eye, although I have not studied in this area to offer information. Antiviral medicine is available for the treatment of shingles,   with a doctor s prescription and consultation.

This treatment, an oral medicine taken by mouth and swallowed with water is to be taken within 72 hours of the skin rash appearing, for effective results. There is additional information a medical doctor may advise, regarding this painful disorder.

I hope the best for you, in receiving a prompt and professional medical diagnosis and successful treatment.

Kind regards, from me, for OurHealth. :-

I realize you sent you comments in June and this in September, however I wanted to give you some information about psoriosis psoriasis. I have had psoriosis psoriasis for over 20 years. It is not just caused by stress although stress can cause it to flare up. It can be heriditary - since you indicated that an uncle has it, I would suspect the same for you. Sunlight is helpful, however, if you live somewhere that you cannot get in the sun or the psoriosis psoriasis is on a part of your body that is covered by clothing, tanning salon with tanning booths works just as well and is not nearly as expensive as having PUVA treatments at a dermatologists office. Also, I drink only filtered water that has been filtered by reverse osmosis. Check the different brands, but believe Sam s brand is reverese osmosis. I actually purchased a reverse osmosis filtration system that sits on my counter. My dermatologist prescribed Ultravate ointment and Dovonex ointment to be used together. It really cleared it up and I now only have occasional eruptions appear. I had horrible plaque psoriosis psoriasis on my knees and elbows. They are now totally clear and have been for about 8 years now. It is something you will have to deal with for the rest of your life, but it is manageable.

Oh my gosh. I am reading all of these and freaking out. I have the exact same thing.. wrinkly, red, slightly burning.. I am self/nutrition shop diagnosed as gluten intolerant and quit eating gluten a couple of months ago.. but recently started work in an italian restaurant where I am handling a lot of bread and gluten. I am wondering if it is a topical reaction to being around it so much/breathing it in/touching my face.. I have an appointment at the derm tomorrow, but this is awful.

That s exactly what I have right now.. Did you ever figure out what it was and did you find a cure. Did it go away, pleaseee let me know.

Im a guy 37 I have it under my eyes close to my nose on both sides. it started about 10 years ago. so its not the makeup. some makeup may even help it.mine also comes and goes. got so mad one time I tried to scratch it off with my fingernail that was dumb..lol  good luck everyone..jl

You need to go to a dermatologist, not to scare you but that is a classic sign of a sign of skin cancer. Get it checked ASAP.. Good luck..

Since I do not have health insurance, I researched many sites to find out how to treat this F ing thing. My symptoms are this: small dime size, 1cmx1cm, red spot, and flakes once a while. It does not itch or secrete any fluids. Basically, I woke up with it under my lip. Possiblity from drooling and the coldness of winter.

I obsessively searched many websites, pictures, forums to find different treatments. I tired using hydrocortizon 1 which helped the redness, but didn t really work that well. I bought aquaphor lip moisturizer which helped with flaking, but didn t treat it. I bought vaseline, but again didn t treat it. I started taking many vitnamins B complex, C, D, and fish oil. Finally, I decided to try Lotrium as described above by others, but Lotrium AF clotrimazole 1 instead of Ultra for a few days and I see some results. It is less red and looks like it is disappearing. Only time will tell. Anyways hope this helps anyone.

Oh yeah I forgot to write I brought tree tea oil which did not help and probably made it worse.

I could cry. I have had a large rash on the laft side of my face for month red dry bumps and now in the last week it has spread all around my mouth. I have the doctor today and I am terrified as to what they are going to say. It sounds as if it is eczema. I am not vain but I am a very insecure person. I keep telling myself that I still have my health nut this is getting me so down. What I want to know is does it get better. I ve read there is no cure.

I have been reading all these comments and still am trying to figure out what I have. At the moment, I don t have the means to a doctor.

I have a flaking skin that is red under my nose. If I try to clear the flaking skin, it stings.  I have tried to cover it up, but it doesn t work because the make-up makes it look worse. And now I am getting similar little spots below the left corner of my mouth.

slynn310  - Well, based on all the comments here, wouldn t you think it s eczema.  I have a patch on my forehead and I have to believe it eczema based on everything I ve read here.

I had dry kinda scales that would delelope under my nose and at the corner of my mouth. they would flake off and leave sore fed patches that looked worse. They would heal Id get a day or two respite then it would start again. It went on so long I was worried it would scar..It didnt, dont worry.

1st I tried excessive use of high emolient forgive my spelling moisturiser. By excessive I mean a cm think layer on my face. handfulls. Leave it for 30m or an hour or all night.Try it and see how your skin drinks it in.its amazing. you will be applying more probably, wondering where it all went.

Try e45 cream, use by the nhs on burn victims.so. or Boots in the UK do a Aqueous cream B.P.    Its a soft white liquid paraffin cream You know.. just the basic no smell thick white moisturiserThat helped for a while, but felt like a patch, Just showed me how dry my skin was.

This is what worked. I cleaned up my act a bit, took better care of myself, drank more water, and ate more veg. I quit smoking. I cleaned up my environment a bit too. Also I stay clean shaven. Think personal care people.

Also, and this gets a big part of the credit in my mind.. I tried using a clenser Its called noxzema you can get it from amazon and read reviews online. I use it a couple of times a day, in a thin layer, massage it leave on 15 mins wash off. Smells and feels medicated in a good way, gets rave reviews and is cheap for a big tub.

At the same time I used a facemask for the first time, im a blokeI wouldnt tell my friends so lets keep it between us. i used it at the same time as noxzema nox - facemask - nox   overkill maybe : still, only took 30 mins before bed. did this 2-3 times a week. facemask is an anti blackhead on with Salicylic acid.

Avon clearskin deep treatment mask. Thats a bit more expensive, Ive only use it for a couple of weeks, when it runs out im just sticking with the noxzema..still its kinda cheap, on amazon again. Note no associate links.

Clean your bath/shower well. focus on the taps / head / plug. anywhere bacteria could thrive.

Change your pillows and towels if you can.

Eat your fruit and veg, smoothie if needed but make sure if you buy it its real fruit pulp, with all the goodness left in.

Hydrate yourself water, not coffee. want coffee. more water for you then :

Thin barrier smear of vaseline overnight minimal. on worst areas only. dont gunk your skin up. dont cover your face. less in more. tiny amounts.

Think  happy thoughts of personal pride.

It worked for me it can work for you. Cost you maybe 20 buck to try it :

Jobs a good one, youre welcome . Happy travels :

Just thought I d post something for all of you to consider- I ve had a recurring scaly red patch on my chin and around my eyebrows for years.  I went on a health kick and cut alcohol out of my diet and my skin was clear within a week.  I didn t immediately make the connection- thought it was the healthier diet..then I went on a cruise that involved a lot of drinking- and the patches were back within days. Cut the alcohol and my skin healed up again.  On new years Eve I had 5 or 6 drinks and my skin was flaring up again by nightfall new years day.  My point is not that alcohol causes this, but that I obviously have some sort of allergy to alcohol that causes my these patches to flare up.  Try cutting known food allergens google for a basic list out of your diet one by one to try to determine if one of them may be causing the flare-ups.  For example, some people are allergic to dairy products and don t even know it.  This requires a lot of self-control but it is totally worth it. Good luck.

Yes there is the possibility that the diet has something to do with this skin problem. Also the use of too many products like lotions, creams, make up, and a lot products contain alcohol which dries our skin even more.  It is best to use simple home remedies to help with this problem. Stay away from cleansers that contain soap, washing your face with hot water, and products containing too many chemicals that most of us can not even tell what they are.  Instead its is best to clean our skin with oils like almonds oil, extra virgen olive oil, organic coconut oil, peach oil, etc. Remove oils with a wet warm towel and rinse your face.  At night do a simple honey mask and concentrate on the dry areas.  Leave the honey from 15 to 30 minutes and rinse with warm water.  Just regular honey works but raw honey is best. Do not reuse towel to dry your face use papper towel.  Moisterize your skin with jojoba oil, almond oil, coconut oil, or olive oil.  This simple treatment works even if your skin is oily, combination, dry or the person has acne problems. This is good even for wrinkles too. Expensive products are not better. They actually do more harm than good.

Wishing you all beautiful healthy skin. :-

Thank you so much for your help.  I read your post late at night and I had the head and shoulders shampoo.  I washed the affected area with it and it helped immediately.  I will pick up the lotion tomorrow.

thank you for your advice, ive been reading everyones stories on here and as terrible as it is, im glad im not the only one with this issue. will definitely be following your advice.

I was told two days ago that I have iron deficiency and today my red patch under my left side lip came back after I had it for the first time 6 month ago. I ve been applying hydrocortizone and anti itch cream it worked last time. but it leave a dark spot there.

Thank you SO Much. You are the smartest person on here. I thought this flaky, red/brown, raised, round spot on my left cheek was eczema but it does not itch. So, after reading your post, I looked up Bean Allergies and I have Every symptom. And I have been eating a lot of beans lately, too. You are a genius.
